Developments: 2. Upcoming Bundesliga fixtures for October 10, 2026, include a matchup between fourth-place FC Augsburg and second-place Bayern Munich at the WWK Arena. Bayern Munich enters the match unbeaten under manager Vincent Kompany, following a recent 7-0 victory over Union Berlin. The team currently holds ten points and aims to close the gap on league leaders Borussia Dortmund. In preparation for the match, which kicks off at 15:30 local time following a 22-day international break, Kompany has implemented a change in travel routine. The squad traveled to Augsburg on Friday to stay overnight in a local hotel, a move intended to ‘strengthen team cohesion’ after the break. However, Bayern will be without Jamal Musiala, who is sidelined with a thigh injury. FC Augsburg enters the match with seven points. While they have had a strong start to the season, including wins over Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt, their momentum has recently slowed following a 3-2 defeat to Werder Bremen. Coach Manuel Baum has signaled a strategy centered on high physical intensity and emotional pressure, instructing players to sprint ‘like a madman’ to disrupt Bayern Munich’s rhythm. The team is also managing defensive adjustments following an injury to Noahkai Banks, which may necessitate lineup changes involving Juma Bah or Jeffrey Gouweleeuw. Additionally, FSV Mainz 05 is scheduled to host Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the Mewa Arena. Mainz seeks its first home win of the season, though the team will be without starting goalkeeper Robin Zentner due to a hand injury. Other notable fixtures for the fifth matchday include RB Leipzig facing Eintracht Frankfurt, and 1899 Hoffenheim taking on Hamburger SV in a struggle to move away from the relegation zone. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-08: Bundesliga Matchday 5 features Bayern München vs FC Augsburg The Bundesliga's fifth matchday features high-stakes matchups, including Bayern München's visit to fourth-placed FC Augsburg and Mainz 05 hosting Bayer Leverkusen. 36 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/bundesliga-fixtures-feature-mainz-05-bayer-leverkusen-and-bayern-munich ### 2026-10-08: FC Augsburg prepares high-intensity approach for Bundesliga clash against FC Bayern FC Augsburg coach Manuel Baum is demanding maximum intensity and constant sprinting to pressure FC Bayern in their upcoming Bundesliga matchup. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/fc-augsburg-prepares-high-intensity-approach-for-bundesliga-clash-against-fc-bayern --- Cite as: Bundesliga football match preparations.
