Cadillac has introduced the XT5 PHEV, a plug-in hybrid luxury SUV developed specifically for the Chinese market using a locally developed electrical architecture. 

The vehicle features a dual-motor powertrain combined with a combustion engine, producing a total of 362 horsepower. It is equipped with a 35.5kWh lithium-ion battery, which Cadillac claims provides an electric range of approximately 96 miles (155km), exceeding current plug-in hybrid ranges available in the United States. 

Technological highlights include the integration of the Momenta R7 World Model, an AI-powered assisted-driving system that utilizes LiDAR, high-definition cameras, and millimeter-wave radar to navigate complex driving scenarios. Pre-sales for the model in China are scheduled to commence on August 21, 2026.
