Literary and cultural activities in Calabria have been highlighted through awards and upcoming festivals. In late August 2026, the Kerasion Prize in San Pietro Apostolo recognized works promoting anti-mafia culture and legality, specifically honoring Paola La Salvia and Vittorio Gazale.

Following this, the cultural review ‘Parole erranti. Voci e visioni dalla Calabria’ is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 27, 2026, at Palazzo Nicotera in Lamezia Terme. Promoted by Corriere della Calabria and curated by Piano B, the three-day program focuses on the literary contributions and legacies of Saverio Strati, Leonida Repaci, and Corrado Alvaro.

The festival will feature writing workshops for students, talks, film screenings, and theatrical readings. These activities aim to explore the relationship between the authors and the Calabrian landscape, addressing themes such as poverty, redemption, emigration, and social identity through various generational perspectives.
