The new facility will feature over 100 aerospace artifacts and 100 hands-on exhibits across three multilevel galleries: the Samuel Oschin Shuttle Gallery, the Korean Air Aviation Gallery, and the Kent Kresa Space Gallery. The centerpiece of the expansion is the Space Shuttle Endeavour, which will be displayed in a vertical “go for launch” position. The shuttle will be mated to two solid rocket boosters and ET-94, the last remaining flight-qualified external fuel tank, allowing visitors to view details such as engines and thermal tiles from a unique perspective. Reservations for the new center became available to museum members on October 19, with general public reservations opening on October 21. While general admission to the California Science Center is free, a $4 reservation service fee per person applies for access to the new facility. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-21: California Science Center opens reservations for Endeavour exhibit The California Science Center is accepting reservations for its new Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, featuring the Space Shuttle Endeavour, ahead of its November 13 public opening. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/california-science-center-opens-reservations-for-endeavour-exhibit ### 2026-10-13: California Science Center to unveil Space Shuttle Endeavour in vertical launch position The California Science Center will debut its Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center on November 13, featuring Space Shuttle Endeavour displayed in a vertical launch position. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/california-science-center-to-unveil-space-shuttle-endeavour-in-vertical-launch-position --- Cite as: California Science Center Endeavour exhibit opening.
