During the 2026 regional and municipal elections in Callao, Pedro Spadaro of the Renovación Popular party emerged as the leading candidate for the Regional Government of Callao. 

Initial polling and simulations indicated Spadaro held a significant lead over competitors. Following the elections, exit polls from Datum Internacional identified Spadaro as the virtual winner with 55.7% of the vote. His proposed ‘Plan Callao’ focuses on infrastructure, health, education, and public security, including investments in the National Police of Peru and the installation of 3,000 surveillance cameras.

In the provincial mayoral race, César Pérez also appeared as the virtual winner with 59.3% of the vote. While exit polls indicated strong performances for various candidates across different districts, official results remained pending the final count by the ONPE.
