First, SODERCAN launched ‘Start Talent Cantabria,’ a program designed to connect regional companies with university students. The initiative allows businesses to present real-world challenges in fields such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, and digitalization for students to address through undergraduate and master’s final projects. Eduardo Arasti, the Regional Minister of Industry, Employment, Innovation, and Commerce, noted the program aims to “transform innovation needs into concrete projects” while building professional links within the local economy. Subsequently, CEOE-CEPYME Cantabria partnered with Grupo Talento Internacional to address broader labor shortages. This collaboration provides advisory services to approximately 37,000 member companies, facilitating the recruitment and administrative integration of foreign professionals to support local business growth. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-22: CEOE Cantabria and Grupo Talento partner to facilitate international hiring CEOE Cantabria and Grupo Talento Internacional have partnered to help regional companies recruit and manage foreign professionals to combat local labor shortages. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ceoe-cantabria-and-grupo-talento-partner-to-facilitate-international-hiring ### 2026-10-02: SODERCAN launches Start Talent Cantabria to link companies with university talent SODERCAN has launched Start Talent Cantabria, a program connecting regional companies with university students to solve real-world innovation, digital, and sustainability challenges through academic projects. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/sodercan-launches-start-talent-cantabria-to-link-companies-with-university-talent --- Cite as: Cantabria regional labor and talent initiatives.
