The Capricorn Foundation has expanded its social and economic development efforts in Namibia through various vocational and community initiatives.

Initially, the Foundation, in partnership with Unmatched Potential, launched the second phase of its ‘Be Your Own Boss’ Vocational Graduate Entrepreneurship Programme. Following a pilot in Swakopmund, the program expanded to Otjiwarongo, Swakopmund, and Outapi to provide 32 vocational graduates with three months of coaching, mentorship, and business development support to encourage self-employment.

Furthering its community impact, the Foundation reported investing N$57.8 million in Namibian community initiatives over the previous six years. For the 2026 financial year, approximately N$14.1 million was allocated toward health, education, training, sustainability, and economic advancement. Additionally, FNB entered a partnership with the City of Windhoek to provide municipal employees with financial literacy programs and tailored banking solutions.

According to the 2026 Social Value Report, the Capricorn Group and Capricorn Foundation invested a total of N$29.3 million in corporate social investment (CSI) and sponsorships across Namibia and Botswana during the 2026 financial year. The Foundation’s N$14.1 million contribution supported outcomes including providing meals to 11,392 people, assisting 35,000 children with early childhood development materials, and training 800 rural artisans. Since its inception in 2020, the Foundation has invested a total of N$56.7 million in community initiatives.

To improve coordination, the CSI Mukopano platform was scheduled for launch in July 2026. The platform aims to unite the corporate, civil society, and public sectors to move toward “coordinated, impact-driven investments” that address national development priorities and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
