Actors Manuel Cortez and Roberto Capasso are joining the ARD telenovela ‘Sturm der Liebe’.

Cortez, known for his work in ‘Verliebt in Berlin’ and ‘Let’s Dance’, will begin his role as Fernando Oliveira this November. Oliveira is a Michelin-starred chef described as having a “charming exterior to mask a manipulative nature,” which includes the theft of ideas from his staff.

Capasso will portray Sinan Ceylan, Oliveira’s apprentice. The storyline is expected to focus on professional competition and power struggles between the two, as Oliveira views the talented apprentice as a threat to his position. Cortez noted that the character dynamic relies on the two wanting something from each other while “simultaneously standing in each other's way.”

Capasso described Sinan as a character who presents a “tough, confident exterior” or a “macho exterior” that masks an “underlying vulnerability and a difficult past.” Sinan’s character arc is expected to involve questioning traditional views of strength and learning to process emotions.
