The Provincial Council of Castellón has introduced new subsidy programs targeting social welfare and economic development. 

To support senior citizens, the institution allocated 70,000 euros to fund sociocultural excursions for associations representing retirees, pensioners, women, and homemakers. Social Welfare Deputy Marisa Torlà noted the initiative aims to promote active aging and improve quality of life.

Additionally, the Provincial Tourism Board approved 760,000 euros to hire tourist information officers across 99 municipalities. This investment, a 6.29% increase over the 2025 budget, is intended to enhance visitor services and combat depopulation by creating local employment. President Marta Barrachina stated the program seeks to support smaller towns in maintaining tourism offices for longer periods throughout the year.
