A court in Catalonia has upheld the disciplinary dismissal of a waiter in Salou following allegations of sexual harassment involving a female colleague.

The incident, which began in the spring of 2024, involved the employee sending various WhatsApp messages and audio recordings to a coworker. Following a formal accusation in June 2024, the employer conducted an internal investigation involving the complainant, the accused, and five witnesses. 

The company classified the behavior as a “very serious labor offense” and terminated the contract. The High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) confirmed that the company acted legally and respected procedural guarantees, though the ruling does not constitute a criminal conviction.
