As the first regional president to visit since the 2022 Russian invasion, Illa traveled with a delegation including Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni. The mission included a stop in Warsaw to meet with the Council for Cooperation between Poland and Ukraine. During the visit, the Barcelona City Council delivered firefighting vehicles and equipment to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
