Developments in the Catalan podcasting and audiovisual landscape include the launch of new professional media projects and the recognition of creative talent.

In early October, the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya and CaixaForum+ introduced the third season of the videopodcast ‘Periodistes. Converses sobre l’ofici’. Hosted by Antoni Bassas, the series features weekly episodes designed to provide insight into the journalistic profession and the work behind news coverage.

Following this, the 2026 Peta el Pod awards, organized by Òmnium Cultural, recognized excellence in Catalan-language podcasting. The awards ceremony saw a 40% increase in submissions over the previous year and honored various winners across audio and video categories, highlighting the growing diversity of digital content in the Catalan language.
