The province of Catamarca is implementing initiatives to modernize and centralize its mining sector. Initially, Catamarca Minera y Energética (CAMYEN) launched an interactive geological-mining map to increase transparency and facilitate investment. This digital platform provides data on 466 mining assets, including mineral types, legal status, and geological potential, while allowing users to cross-reference information with regional infrastructure.

Following this digital initiative, the provincial government and the Municipality of San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca formalized an agreement to establish a ‘Mining Pole’ (or ‘Mining Hub’) in the southern part of the capital city. Signed by Governor Raúl Jalil and Mayor Gustavo Saadi, the agreement involves the donation of municipal properties to the province for exclusive use in mining infrastructure development.

The project aims to decentralize public offices from the city center and promote urban development in new sectors through improved territorial planning. The infrastructure will include an administrative complex to centralize agencies such as the Ministry of Mining and CAMYEN S.E., as well as dedicated sites for logistics and operations, including the storage of machinery, vehicles, and drilling witnesses.
