Following a 2026 theme centered on the individual as a ‘missionary disciple,’ the conference announced that the 2027 focus will shift to the theme ‘Each Catholic family is a missionary community.’ This initiative seeks to establish the family as a ‘domestic church’ through stages of identity recognition, communion, and faith transmission. In alignment with these missionary goals, local parishes have begun implementing religious activities and training. In the Vinh Phuc Deanery, clergy have held sessions to discuss practical applications of missionary work, emphasizing personal renewal and the responsible use of media to combat misinformation. Additionally, communities such as Tan An Parish have held weeks of Eucharistic adoration and reconciliation to coincide with World Mission Sunday, highlighting evangelization through prayer and charity. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-18: Catholic communities in Vietnam hold missionary training and adoration weeks Catholic parishes in Vietnam, including Bao Son and Tan An, held events focused on missionary training, Eucharistic adoration, and spiritual renewal to promote the Gospel through daily witness. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/catholic-communities-in-vietnam-hold-missionary-training-and-adoration-weeks ### 2026-09-30: Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam sets 2027 pastoral theme The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam has announced its 2027 pastoral theme, focusing on transforming Catholic families into missionary communities to proclaim the Gospel. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/catholic-bishops-conference-of-vietnam-sets-2027-pastoral-theme --- Cite as: Catholic Church missionary initiatives in Vietnam.
