The Catholic Church is preparing for World Mission Sunday 2026, to be observed on October 18 under the theme ‘One in Christ, united in mission’ established by Pope Leo XIV.

Global preparations include activities in Venezuela, where the Archdiocese of Valencia has scheduled local celebrations for October 24, and in Italy. In Italy, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi has called for a ‘missionary conversion of pastoral care’ to foster dialogue and listening. Additionally, the Diocese of Acireale has dedicated the entire month of October to missionary vocation through various events, including vigils and concerts, to prepare for the 100th World Mission Day.
