CBS developed and premiered ‘Cupertino’, a legal drama series created by Robert and Michelle King. The series explores power dynamics, technology, and law within Silicon Valley, following attorneys Michael Price and Olivia Siffre as they form a law firm to challenge major technology corporations after being dismissed from a startup called S-Talk.

Production for the series took place in New Jersey during the summer of 2026, with filming locations including Middlesex, Bergen, Union, and Essex counties. The show officially premiered on October 8, 2026. The cast features Mike Colter, Rachel Keller, Joe Morton, and Busy Philipps. While not based on a specific true story, creators noted the series is inspired by the ‘gold-rush mentality’ of Silicon Valley and the real-world impact of tech giants.

Following its release, the series achieved a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics have highlighted its fast-paced, episodic storytelling and its exploration of artificial intelligence. Recent plotlines focus on legal accountability regarding automated decision-making, such as chatbot influences and errors in automated weapon detection systems. Upcoming storylines are expected to address class-action lawsuits against AI training companies and legal disputes involving AI-driven music and transplants.

CBS has scheduled new episodes for November 5 and November 12, 2026, with a special programming lineup on Sunday, November 8, featuring the episode ‘Harper’.
