The Municipality of Bari has initiated plans to transform the abandoned former RAI site in Ceglie del Campo into a multifunctional green space known as Parco delle Lamie. The project covers approximately 12 hectares of uncultivated land and disused buildings, aiming to create an ecological link between local ravines and the surrounding historical agricultural landscapes through educational gardens, playgrounds, and cultural spaces. Following the approval of the technical-economic feasibility project, the Bari City Council has formally approved the ‘Patto di Partecipazione’ (Participation Pact). Proposed by Deputy Mayor Giovanna Iacovone, this framework is designed to foster transparency and collaboration by involving citizens and local associations in the urban regeneration process. The initiative will utilize public meetings, co-design workshops, and collaborative mapping to ensure the development of the former RAI complex meets the actual needs of local residents. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-18: Meloni announces emergency security decree following Milan unrest Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has announced an emergency security decree featuring preventive detention for minors aged 14-18 and a reversal of the burden of proof for public order crimes. 26 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/bari-approves-participatory-plan-for-ex-rai-site-transformation ### 2026-10-09: Ceglie del Campo to transform former RAI site into Parco delle Lamie Bari has approved the development of Parco delle Lamie, a 12-hectare multifunctional urban park in the former RAI area of Ceglie del Campo designed to promote ecological transition. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ceglie-del-campo-to-transform-former-rai-site-into-parco-delle-lamie --- Cite as: Ceglie del Campo urban regeneration project.
