Speculation regarding the managerial future of Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has intensified following a period of difficult results, including exits from the Champions League and the Scottish League Cup. While chief executive Michael Nicholson has expressed support for O’Neill, the club’s performance has fueled discussions about potential replacements.

Initial reports linked former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe to the vacancy. As discussions progressed, the scope of potential candidates expanded to include Premier League-linked figures. David Moyes has been identified as a candidate for long-term planning, particularly given his contract status at Everton. Additionally, Sean Dyche has been mentioned as a possible mid-season replacement. Although O’Neill has expressed intentions to remain in charge, the club continues to be linked with high-profile successors.
