In early September 2026, health initiatives were launched in Austria and Germany to promote physical activity and combat inactivity.

In Austria, the “50 Days of Movement” program was introduced, running from September 7 to October 26. Organized by Fonds Gesundes Österreich, the initiative offers over 1,200 free activities, such as yoga, Pilates, and senior gymnastics, to help citizens meet cardiovascular and muscular health recommendations.

Simultaneously, the “United let-s move” campaign was announced for Germany and Austria, scheduled for September 23 to September 30. This campaign provides non-members free, commitment-free access to participating fitness studios to address data showing that roughly 40 percent of adults in Germany do not meet World Health Organization physical activity guidelines. Additionally, the “Sport im Park” program in Heidelberg, Germany, is hosting special events, including functional fitness courses in October to mark the tenth anniversary of the “alla hopp!” facility.
