Preparations for the XVII Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov Jateng), scheduled for October 25–30, 2026, have transitioned into the active competition phase.

Earlier preparations saw Banyumas conducting motivational briefings for over 400 athletes, while Semarang Regency prepared 263 athletes aiming for a top-seven finish. Pati Regency, aiming for a top-three position, announced a potential gold medal bonus of Rp50 million. Semarang City launched its campaign with 845 athletes across 57 sports branches, targeting 190 gold medals to defend its overall championship title.

As the games are underway, the Central Java Provincial Underwater Sports Association (Possi) is using the event as a talent scouting platform. Chairman Moh Maretan stated the competition aims to identify athletes for advanced training for national and international championships, prioritizing performance quality and timing records over medal counts.

In Hapkido competitions at the Kendal Sport Center, the Kendal Regency team has earned two silver medals, won by Sania Malik Kamala Anjani and Mellynda Vania Azzahra, and two bronze medals, awarded to Mukhammad Yusuf and Pedrosa Jutava. Despite facing experienced competitors from Semarang, local officials remain hopeful for gold medals in the remaining seven categories.
