The 34th CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship is being held from September 9 to September 26 across Italy, Bulgaria, Finland, and Romania. The tournament features 24 national teams divided into six groups.

In Group D, matches are hosted at the BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The group consists of Romania, France, Germany, Latvia, Turkey, and Switzerland. The Turkish national team, led by head coach Slobodan Kovac, has completed preparations in Cluj. Following successes in the Volleyball Nations League, players Efe Bayram and Ahmet Tümer expressed goals of reaching the top eight, the top four, and ultimately securing a medal.

Latvia opened its campaign with a 3-1 victory over host nation Romania. Following this win, Latvia is scheduled to face Germany, France, Switzerland, and Turkey. Germany enters its matchup against Latvia following a 3-1 victory against Turkey. 

The top four teams from each group will advance to the round of 16 in Turin and Sofia, while consolation matches are set to take place in Milan.
