Cheniere Energy has progressed through key regulatory and operational milestones regarding its LNG expansion projects in the United States.

In early August, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved a request to introduce natural gas into Train 7 at the Corpus Christi LNG export facility in South Texas. This approval cleared a final regulatory hurdle for the company’s seventh expansion unit. During this period, Cheniere also reported strong quarterly performance, raising its annual core-profit forecast following an adjusted core profit of $1.8 billion for the second quarter.

By the end of August, Cheniere announced the substantial completion of its Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage 3 Project. Executed by Bechtel Energy, the expansion added a seventh liquefaction train, increasing the company’s total LNG production capacity by over 20% to approximately 56 million tonnes per annum. Alongside this completion, the company marked the export of its 5,000th LNG cargo, which departed from the Sabine Pass facility in Louisiana for Asian markets.
