Railway police discovered the dismembered, headless remains of the victim inside the bag. Investigators used CCTV footage and a package from a Chennai cloth shop to trace the crime back to Tamil Nadu, where additional body parts were recovered from a rented house in Guduvanchery. The suspects, identified as 22-year-old Manik Uddin Laskar and his 21-year-old wife Bhagabati Majhi, were apprehended during a joint operation between Tamil Nadu and Manipur police.
