The recall was prompted by an incorrect Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI) label under the hood that failed to list the correct evaporative emissions family name. While GM noted there was no mechanical repair required or driving safety hazard, dealers were instructed to hold inventory until technicians could apply accurate labels. Separately, a new Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport experienced a total electrical failure shortly after purchase. The vehicle lost all power and could not restart, requiring police intervention. Technical analysis indicated the failure was caused by a software error within the anti-theft system, which incorrectly interpreted a remote start procedure as a tampering attempt and triggered internal protection routines. The issue was resolved via a system reset. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-26: Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport experiences software failure shortly after purchase A new Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport suffered a software-driven electrical failure and anti-theft lockout shortly after purchase, requiring police assistance before a system reset resolved the issue. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/chevrolet-corvette-grand-sport-experiences-software-failure-shortly-after-purchase ### 2026-10-21: General Motors issues stop-sale for 2027 Corvette Grand Sport General Motors has issued a voluntary stop-sale and emissions recall for the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport due to an incorrect under-hood emissions label. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/general-motors-issues-stop-sale-for-2027-corvette-grand-sport --- Cite as: Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport technical issues.
