In preparation for the second edition of the Chihuahua by UTMB trail running competition, the Chihuahua State Government announced a 25 percent discount on adventure activities at Parque Barrancas for local participants. The event is part of the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc circuit and the 30th anniversary of the Chihuahua International Adventure Tourism Festival.

As the competition commenced in the Sierra Tarahumara and Barrancas del Cobre region, it drew over 1,100 athletes from 27 countries. The race includes various distances ranging from 9K to 100 miles. The event features approximately 131 indigenous Rarámuri runners who receive support through the ‘Norawa’ initiative, which provides equipment, transportation, lodging, food, and financial compensation to ensure equitable competitive conditions.
