The Chihuahua State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has undergone leadership changes and legal developments. Gilberto Loya, head of the FGE, appointed Daniel Abraham Terrazas Parada as the new District Attorney for the Central Zone, replacing Heliodoro Araiza Reyes. This appointment is part of a restructuring effort involving a new “Model of Procurement and Security” intended to improve justice procurement and organizational reengineering.

Concurrently, Guillermo Arturo Zuany Portillo, the former prosecutor for Strategic Operations and Anti-Kidnapping who resigned in May 2026, has obtained an indirect amparo. This judicial protection prevents the execution of an arrest warrant against him and limits the state prosecutor's ability to request an Interpol Red Notice or migration alerts. The FGE has confirmed it will comply with the ruling while continuing its investigations.
