In Moab, Utah, Jeremiah and Jennifer Perkins have entered no contest pleas regarding the severe malnutrition and alleged torture of an elementary school-aged child.

Both individuals face potential prison sentences of up to 15 years. Under the terms of the plea agreements, the state has dropped original first-degree felony counts, and the defendants are prohibited from contacting the victim until he reaches age 18.
