The High Court in Edinburgh has issued prison sentences to two men for long-term child sexual abuse.

Graeme Dott, a former world snooker champion, was sentenced to seven years in prison for the abuse of a girl between 1993 and 1996 and a boy between 2006 and 2010. Judge Lord Harrower described the actions as a “gross violation of trust” that “robbed the complainers of a significant part of their childhood.” Following his conviction, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association permanently revoked Dott’s membership.

Separately, Ian White, 62, received a 12-year prison sentence for nine counts of sexual abuse committed between 1978 and 1998. The court heard evidence of White targeting vulnerable children and infants, including the rape of a young girl. The judge characterized the behavior as “heinous, calculated, and despicable,” noting a lack of remorse from the defendant.
