Data from the 2024/2025 school year in Poland shows that over 25,700 accidents involving children occurred in schools and educational facilities. Analysis of Ministry of National Education data indicates that sports-related activities were responsible for 66.1% of these incidents.

Gymnasiums were the most frequent locations for accidents, with 12,388 cases, followed by playgrounds with 3,524 incidents. Corridors and stairs accounted for 12.4% of accidents, and approximately 75% of all recorded incidents took place in primary schools. 

Claims data also highlights a seasonal trend, with the highest number of claims reported between March and May. For serious injuries, the costs of medical treatment and rehabilitation can significantly exceed basic health impairment benefits.
