Chile’s Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation organized the eighth Science and Technology Festival, held nationwide from October 5 to 11, 2026. The event officially updated its name to include “Technology” to emphasize the transition from research to practical innovation.

To coordinate the national program, the Ministry launched the “Cultura Científica” digital platform, an open registry for schools, universities, research centers, and science-based companies to include their activities in the official schedule. In the Los Ríos Region, a central public fair was scheduled for October 8 at the Science Tent of the Centro de Estudios Científicos del Sur in Valdivia. The festival's objective was to decentralize scientific knowledge through free public activities across all regions.
