In Chile, local municipalities have undertaken initiatives to support and celebrate senior citizens through infrastructure improvements and community events.

In Las Compañías, the Municipality of La Serena completed the renovation of a community headquarters for the Unión Comunal de Adultos Mayores (UCAM). The facility, located at the former Casa de la Cultura, was restored to provide a dedicated space for meetings and workshops following an 11-year effort by local seniors.

Other municipalities have hosted celebratory events, such as the launch of the 2026 Month of the Older Adult in Ovalle and a spring celebration in Chonchi. These events included parades, musical performances, and communal gatherings intended to recognize the contributions of the elderly to their communities.
