In the La Araucanía region, school sports competitions have resulted in several teams qualifying for national championships. The Liceo Bicentenario Indómito de Purén secured its third consecutive spot in the U14 female national basketball championship following a victory at the Rufino Bernedo Multipurpose Center in Temuco. 

In the male category, Liceo Jorge Teillier of Lautaro won the regional championship, while Liceo Bicentenario Indómito de Purén placed second. Both teams are set to represent the La Araucanía region at the National Final of the School Sports Games in the Valparaíso Region this September.
