Sources: 5. Developments: 2. The Sustainable Building Certification (CES) in Chile has expanded its scope through regional recognition and project reporting. In early September 2026, the organization announced the eighth edition of the CES Awards, scheduled for October 29, 2026. These awards will honor projects in the La Araucanía, Metropolitana, Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica, and Valparaíso regions. Recent technical activities included pre-certifying the Universidad Católica del Maule’s Santa Mónica Campus and conducting site visits at hospitals in the Los Ríos and Los Lagos networks to evaluate waste management and thermal solutions. Additionally, CES has begun presenting its Chilean model to regional markets, such as in Peru. By late September 2026, CES reported its results for the first half of the year, noting 40 registered projects, 23 pre-certified projects, and 15 certified projects. These developments span diverse sectors, including airport infrastructure, higher education, and corporate buildings. Notable projects include the Andrés Sabella Airport in Antofagasta and the Desierto de Atacama Airport in Copiapó, alongside the Rapa Nui Museum replacement and various university buildings. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-29: Sustainable Building Certification reports 40 projects for H1 2026 Chile's Sustainable Building Certification (CES) registered 40 projects in the first half of 2026, including major airport, university, and corporate infrastructure developments. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/sustainable-building-certification-reports-40-projects-for-h1-2026 ### 2026-09-03: CES Awards to recognize sustainable building projects in Chile The eighth CES Awards will recognize sustainable building projects in several Chilean regions this October, following recent pre-certifications and regional expansion efforts. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ces-awards-to-recognize-sustainable-building-projects-in-chile --- Cite as: Chilean Sustainable Building Certification developments.
