Chilean authorities have initiated inspections within the veterinary sector to enforce sanitary and consumer protection regulations. The National Consumer Service (SERNAC) conducted a national deployment to verify compliance with Law No. 19,496, finding that seven out of ten inspected clinics failed to display visible price lists.

In Antofagasta, the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Health prohibited the operation of the Gemavet veterinary clinic following reports of sanitary violations. Inspectors identified issues including the use of expired human medications for veterinary procedures, stagnant water posing mosquito risks, and a lack of proper medical storage authorizations, sterilization records, and essential safety equipment.
