Following an earthquake on August 10 that impacted approximately 28,000 homes in the Chocó department, reconstruction efforts have focused on the municipality of Quibdó. Camacol and the Corporación El Minuto de Dios announced a plan to invest between 4.5 and 5 billion pesos to build 27 single-family homes. This initiative, intended to create the region’s first formal neighborhood, includes urban design and public spaces to help rebuild the social fabric.

The Tierra Nueva housing project has since entered a new phase. The development will consist of 27 homes, each measuring 45 square meters, on a site of roughly 5,000 square meters. The project is supported by Camacol Bogotá and Cundinamarca, the Corporación El Minuto de Dios, and resources from the ‘Colombia Un Solo Corazón’ campaign.
