Midfielder Christian Cueva has expressed ambition to compete for the Torneo Clausura title with Sport Boys following a 1-0 victory against Deportivo Garcilaso. Manager Carlos Desio praised Cueva’s ability to read the game, describing him as ‘different’ and noting his mental processing is ‘two or three seconds ahead of everyone else.’

However, Cueva is expected to miss a critical 12th-round match against Juan Pablo II. Although on loan at Sport Boys, Cueva remains officially registered with his parent club, Juan Pablo II. Sport Boys has reportedly decided not to trigger a clause to pay a fee for his participation due to economic reasons. This absence occurs as the team attempts to recover points to remain in contention for a Copa Sudamericana qualification spot.
