The 22nd CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 4 to 12. The festival lineup features 16 films competing for the Pressburger Award, including international works from festivals such as Cannes and Berlin.

Among the notable entries is Gábor Reisz’s Hungarian-Italian co-production ‘Földszint’, which follows a bank archivist investigating a mould spot in his apartment. The film previously had its world premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. Other selections include Bernadette Mayer’s debut feature ‘Mommy Blue’, ‘Heysel 85’, ‘Rose’, ‘The Battle of Oslo’, ‘The Red Warehouse’, and ‘Vádemelés’.

The festival is introducing infrastructure upgrades, such as modern laser projection technology at the renovated Science and Technology House Stage, and a new V4+ competition section for regional works. The Croatian comedy ‘Lagzi’ will serve as the opening film.
