The project involves an investment of approximately €270 million (£232 million) to create a 350 MW/1400 MWh lithium-ion facility. Developed by Noriker Power, the project is designed to store surplus Scottish wind power and release it to the grid during periods of high demand or low network capacity. Shell is expected to optimize the project under a deal that likely includes contracted revenues.
