Circolo Canottieri Ortigia has announced the promotion of two academy players to its first team for the 2026/2027 Serie A1 water polo season.

On August 27, the club promoted attacker Bruno Bordone, a product of the Ortigia youth system who previously earned a world silver medal and a European gold medal with the Italian Under-16 national team. 

Following this, on August 31, the club announced the signing of attacker Angelo Sicali. Sicali, also a member of the Italian youth national teams and a former Under-16 world silver medalist, is moving up to the Serie A1 squad from the club’s Academy after several seasons of experience in Serie B and Serie A2.
