Former UFC interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane initially expressed interest in returning to the octagon by facing either Tom Aspinall or Alex Pereira. Gane noted that a fight with Aspinall would provide an opportunity to unify the heavyweight belts, while a rematch with Pereira would allow him to address previous controversies regarding alleged illegal strikes.

Following these statements, Josh Hinchcliffe has been scheduled to challenge Gane for the undisputed UFC heavyweight championship on November 14 at Madison Square Garden. During discussions regarding the matchup, Hinchcliffe also commented on other fighters, criticizing Ilia Topuria and expressing skepticism regarding Tom Aspinall’s recent eye injury.
