The ongoing war in Ukraine continues to shape civilian life across different regions, manifesting in both routines of resilience and profound psychological strain.

In Kyiv, residents attempt to maintain a sense of normalcy and dignity despite missile and drone strikes. This includes attending work in professional attire and participating in a daily national minute of silence at nine o’clock to honor fallen soldiers.

In contrast, the situation in Reni, southern Ukraine, highlights a more pervasive state of fear and demographic shifts. Residents report that common sounds like motorcycles or aircraft trigger intense anxiety. The constant sound of air raid sirens has become a defining feature of life, while locals observe fewer children enrolling in school and an increasing number of people leaving the region due to instability and untreated illnesses.
