To assist in patient monitoring, the project utilizes an artificial intelligence-based voice assistant named ‘LOLA’. This virtual assistant performs automated periodic calls to track the evolution of diagnosed patients and detect early signs of worsening conditions. The program seeks to address the issue that many individuals living with CKD remain unaware of their condition due to a lack of early symptoms.
