The recruitment of top-tier high school basketball prospects for the Class of 2027 has centered on high-profile point guards Beckham Black and Nasir Anderson.

Initially, the University of North Carolina focused on securing these players, hosting Black, the No. 1 ranked player in the 247 Composite rankings, and scheduling an official visit for Anderson.

As the process progressed, both athletes provided updates on their recruitment. Black, who has visited several universities including Florida, Texas, and Arkansas, indicated that his decision will be difficult and that he is seeking a coaching staff his family can trust. Anderson has also expanded his recruitment activities, having visited Providence, Virginia, and North Carolina, with a scheduled visit to Tennessee in mid-October.
