The Islas Verdes Foundation was launched in Gran Canaria to address climate change through a solution-oriented approach. The non-profit organization focuses on four pillars, including sustainable mobility and responsible resource management, through collaboration between institutions, businesses, and society.

Following this launch, the first Canary Islands Climate Change Forum was held in Telde. The forum brought together over 200 participants from the research, business, and public sectors to discuss decarbonization and transversal policies. During the event, the Canary Islands Health Service detailed its Net Zero Emissions Strategy, which includes utilizing green hydrogen and methanol, managing infectious waste locally, and investing millions of euros into photovoltaic projects and climate control efficiency.
