The Clásico Caribeño 2026 baseball series, featuring Mexico’s Charros de Jalisco and Venezuela’s Cardenales de Lara, was originally scheduled to take place in October 2026 in Dallas and Sugar Land, Texas. The event was intended to engage large Latin American fanbases and include fundraising for earthquake victims in Venezuela.

However, the organizing committee postponed the matches until 2027. The decision was driven by concerns regarding the “current immigration enforcement environment in Texas” and its potential impact on Hispanic and immigrant communities. Following the postponement, Charros de Jalisco announced two friendly preseason matches against Jaguares de Nayarit to be held at Estadio Panamericano in October. These matches, scheduled for October 8 and 9, will serve as a charitable event accepting food donations for the Guadalajara Food Bank.
