Club Med has launched its first all-inclusive resort in South Africa, located on the Dolphin Coast in KwaZulu-Natal. The development, known as Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari, consists of a beach resort and the Vikela Safari Lodge, which is situated on an 18,000-hectare private reserve.

President Cyril Ramaphosa described the R2 billion investment as a “vote of confidence” in the national tourism industry, noting it as the largest hospitality investment in the Southern African Development Community since the 1970s. The project was supported by an investment consortium focused on broad-based black economic empowerment and has generated significant local employment, including over 2,300 jobs during construction and 600 permanent positions.

According to Janyck Daudet, CEO of Club Med for South America, the resort aims to offer travelers exclusive access to destinations that combine beach environments with safari experiences.
