The official website of the Brazilian football club Clube do Remo has been targeted by two separate cyberattacks within a single week.

The first incident occurred on August 8, following controversial remarks made by the club’s president, Antônio Carlos Teixeira, regarding football player Neymar. A group calling itself “Umbrella Gang” defaced the site with a montage of the president and Neymar, alongside messages criticizing the president and making political references.

Shortly after the club recovered its portal, a second attack took place on August 15. A different group, identifying as “Slaxxer,” replaced the homepage with a black screen and the phrase “PWNED BY SLAXXER” or “DERROTADO POR SLAXXER”. This group posted a manifesto in English containing political criticisms of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the federal government. The attackers stated their primary goal was to disseminate political viewpoints rather than stealing personal data. The recurrence of these breaches has raised concerns regarding the club’s digital infrastructure security.
