This project, which is currently awaiting Semarnat approval, utilizes automated engineering processes to separate sand from the seaweed to enhance beach attractiveness for the high season.

In recent developments, Mayor Estefanía Mercado reported ongoing coordination with the Mexican Navy (Semar), which deploys over 580 personnel daily for beach cleaning and protection. An investment exceeding 2 billion pesos is being directed toward sargassum containment strategies across the region. 

While these restoration and management projects proceed, activists continue to raise concerns regarding the environmental and cultural impacts of development in the Punta Venado area, calling for investigations into potential archaeological vestiges and protected species.
