Chilean football clubs Cobreloa and Colo Colo have reached a settlement to resolve a long-standing dispute regarding the training rights of player Ignacio Jara. The conflict, which originated from Jara’s 2020 transfer to Colo Colo, had previously resulted in a ruling by the ANFP’s Tribunal de Asuntos Patrimoniales (TAP) requiring Colo Colo to pay Cobreloa USD 150,000.

While Colo Colo had initially appealed the ruling to an international tribunal, the clubs negotiated an agreement that satisfies Cobreloa’s initial requests. Cobreloa Vice President Ignacio Mehech stated the agreement is beneficial for the club. Although a confidentiality clause prevents the release of specific details, reports indicate the settlement involves the payment of US$ 150,000 and an additional match against Colo Colo. The terms are expected to be presented to Cobreloa’s members during an assembly in September.
