Sources: 108. Developments: 4. German police in Cologne are investigating an incident involving a humanoid robot that allegedly sexually harassed a 16-year-old girl near a fast-food restaurant on the night of October 10-11, 2026. The 1.2-meter-tall red and gold robot, identified as a Unitree model valued at approximately 5,000 euros, reportedly approached the teenager from behind, touched her buttocks, and performed thrusting motions. Authorities have arrested two suspects, aged 16 and 19, on suspicion of controlling the device during the encounter. Investigators seized the robot and the suspects' mobile phones to determine if the machine was operated via remote control, a mobile application, or if the movements were pre-programmed. The robot was located hidden in the trunk of a Volkswagen. While the 16-year-old owner claimed the robot accidentally collided with the girl while avoiding a passerby, online footage appears to show sexually suggestive movements following the contact. New footage has since surfaced online appearing to show the device making sexually explicit gestures toward other women. Cologne police have characterized the event as “new territory,” noting the unprecedented nature of a robot being used in this manner. At least one victim has filed a criminal complaint, and officials are treating the matter as a suspected case of sexual harassment. The incident has prompted discussions regarding legal accountability for autonomous machines and the necessity of regulations for AI and robotic behavior in public spaces. ## Claims - The robot allegedly touched a 16-year-old girl on the buttocks and made thrusting movements.
